We Are Going to Have a Baby!!!

About 2 weeks ago, I had a dream that I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. The next morning it was driving me nuts, so I took one, and it was positive! I was freaking out, so I took another one and it was positive! Then, just to be sure, I went to the hospital and took a blood test, sure enough, they called me back an hour later, and it was POSITIVE! AHHH! I have been waiting for this my whole life! It has been so exciting telling our families!

With Jake's family, since Abbie already knew (thank goodness, because I needed her!), she organized a family home evening with everybody where we talked about giving thanks. At the end, we all wrote down 5 things we are thankful for, and Chad and Teresa read them out loud. When Chad got to Jakes, he was thankful for:
his family
his wife
his eternal family
his home
and that he is going to be a daddy!

It was awesome, everybody just kept saying, "serious?" "really?" and Teresa got on the phone and called the whole family! She kept saying, "I'm so excited I can't stand it! Three babies in less than a year!"
We waited until Thanksgiving to tell my family, because I wanted to tell them in person, and they didn't get here until then. We have a tradition in our family, we always play BINGO on Thanksgiving with prizes. So, I got my mom a shirt that says, "GUESS WHAT?? MY BABY IS HAVING A BABY!!" and my dad a shirt that says, "THIS IS WHAT A COOL GRANDPA LOOKS LIKE." My mom didn't want to play BINGO because she didn't feel good, so when my dad FINALLY won (it seemed like forever), they both got a prize. My dad kind of acted like he didn't want that one, and was looking at what everybody else was opening and didn't open his. My mom opened hers though, and she was over on the couch, and immediately started crying and couldn't talk. Everybody thought something was wrong with her! Her and dad were crying on and off the rest of the night, my mom would compose herself, go to call somebody, and as soon as she started to tell the story, she would lose it again! :) They are very excited to be grandparents, and my mom even said at one point, "Kelci is having a baby and I don't even live here!" and then my dad said, "you will.." So we are crossing our fingers!
It has been such an exciting couple weeks, and I am looking forward to all the new excitements in the next several months! We aren't sure how far along I am, probably about 8 weeks, I see the doctor for the first time Tuesday! I can't wait! It makes us feel nervous but so excited at the same time. We didn't get pictures with Jake's family, but we did get some with mine! Also some semi-videos... my aunt didn't know it was on video, and thought she was taking pictures! But you get the idea of the excitement.

Tagged by Lor: 10 Random things you may not know about me

1. My worst habit (according to Jake), is that I love to pop my gum through my teeth, I don't even notice I'm doing it, until I catch on to the glare from Jake, that is my que to stop.

2. I HATE when people add -ers and sometimes -ey to the end of words! Like, "twinners," or "lovey" ...you get the idea. It drives me nuts! "Yayers!"

3. I played water polo all through high school, and we never won a game... but I loved it, so that's all that matters.

4. I used to hate all sorts of food, like tomatoes, mushrooms, avacado... now I LOVE it all, I'll eat anything. The only thing I really turn away from still is olives, they look like baby slugs and taste similar too... I bet...

5. I taught swim lessons all through high school, was on the swim team since I was 8 and was even captain my senior year. I still teach swim lessons in the summer, I guess you could say that is my passion, I love the water, I just might be half fish.

6. Besides swimming, my other passion is kids. I've been known to be the "baby hog," or the "baby smuggler," you might have a different nick-name for me that you haven't shared with me vocally... but that's besides the point. I love kids, they make me laugh, and I just think they are the closest thing to heaven that Heavenly Father gives us. That is why I am going to have my own preschool in the next couple years... it is in the making. Oh and my own babies.

7. I am kind of a slob at heart... the only reason my house ever gets clean, is because my husband is a clean freak! I help out a lot too, don't get me wrong, but it is only because I have had to learn that cleanliness really is a nice trait, I'm working on it okay! Just don't ask my mom about my bedroom my whole life... she might cry.

8. I am the middle child, therefore I have middle child syndrome, meaning I totally got gypped! I am the only musically NOT talented child in my family. My sister has the voice of a goddess and can bring a stadium to tears, and my brother writes songs and plays guitar and also has a voice that gives you chills. Then there is me... I can't bring you to tears or give you chills, but I could make you cringe! That has to count for something I guess.

9. I do not like animals at all. I only like humans. Dogs stink, cats are boring, and they make me have allergic reactions. Why anyone would want a pet is beyond me. I had a fish one time and tried to kill it until my grandma found out, so I gave it to my cousins. I mean I understand that they can be cute and can make some people happy, but just not me.

10. I really like decorating. I may not be the best at, but it's okay, it is something that I enjoy.

NOW PRESENTING: JAKE with tonights entertainment...

( Disclaimer: This picture has nothing to do with him talking in his sleep, I just thought it was funny)
Jake is so funny, especially in his sleep. He yells and talks in his sleep ALL THE TIME! It is so funny, I'm a much lighter sleeper than he is, so I hear it almost everynight. Most of the time, he is totally peeved at somebody or something. Also, most of the time he wakes me up by his hollering, I get a good laugh, go back to sleep and can't remember it in the morning! That makes me so mad! So here are some that I actually remember:

1. One night he was talking about some girl Kaylee, and how he needed to find her skis. When he woke up and I asked him about Kaylee, he claims he had no idea what I was talking about.

2. "DRIVES ME NUTS!" (I think this one was him venting about his wife. He knows better than to do it when he is awake :)

3. "DA**IT!" (yes, believe it or not Jake says bad words sometimes.)

4. "Get a yard pal!" (he was really ticked off at this guy..)

5. The other night I came back to bed after blowing my nose, Jake says, "Do I still ache?" so I was like, "WHAT?" and he said clearer, "DO I STILL ACHE" I said NO. And he turns his back to me and says, "WHATEVER!"

6. One morning I was getting ready for my early class, Jake was still asleep. I sneezed, and from the bedroom I hear him yell, "STOP IT!!" I thought my goodness, I didn't mean to. But then a couple mintues later I hear him yell, "NO!" He was sleeping.

So even though I don't have kids to keep me entertained, I still have Jake. I wish I could remember all the funny things he has said, maybe I need to keep notebook by the bed...
